Age <35 years, homosexual men: Chlamydia trachomatis, U. urealyticum, E. coli (GNR), Enterococcus faecalis (GPC), P. aeruginosa (GNR), brucella (GVCB).

Age >35 years, or children: Enterobacteriaceae (especially E. coli ) (GNR), Pseudomonas sp. (GNR), salmonella (GNR), Haemophilus influenzae (GNCB), VZV, mumps.

Immunosuppression: H. influenzae, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (AFB), Candida sp. (yeast), CMV.
