Usually polymicrobial: Enterobacteriaceae, especially E. coli , Enterobacter sp., Proteus sp., Klebsiella sp. (GNR), enterococcus (GPC in chains), Bacteroides sp. (GNR), actinomyces (GPR), S. aureus (GPC) (MRSA), viridans streptococci (GPC), Candida sp., Entamoeba histolytica.
