DDx

  • Noninfectious: drug fever, postoperative atelectasis or tissue necrosis, hematoma, pancreatitis, pulmonary embolus, myocardial infarction, ischemic colitis
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Pneumonia
  • Bacteremia, eg, indwelling catheter, wound, abscess, pneumonia, genitourinary (GU) or gastrointestinal (GI) tract
  • Wound infection, eg, decubitus ulcer
  • C. difficile colitis
