Optic disc swelling
Etiology
- Increased intracranial pressure (papilledema)
- Optic neuritis, eg, multiple sclerosis
- Anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, eg, temporal (giant cell) arteritis
- Severe hypertensive retinopathy
- Central retinal vein occlusion
- Posterior uveitis
- Posterior scleritis
- Optic disc drusen (pseudopapilledema)
- Optic nerve sheath meningioma
- Optic nerve infiltration by sarcoidosis, leukemia, or lymphoma
