Etiology
- Multiple sclerosis
- Viral infection, eg, measles, mumps, influenza, herpes zoster
- Autoimmune, eg, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
- Spread of inflammation from meninges, orbital tissues, paranasal sinuses
