Etiology
- Thyroidectomy
- Hypomagnesemia
- Parathyroid adenoma removal
- DiGeorge's syndrome (with congenital cardiac defects and facial anomalies)
- Heavy metals: Wilson's disease, hemochromatosis, transfusion hemosiderosis
- Other: granulomas, autoimmune, Riedel's thyroiditis, tumor, infection, irradiation
