Description

  • Usually results from a backward fall that ends with the victim in sitting position
  • Fall usually occurs from standing height
  • A strong blow to the tailbone may cause a fracture or dislocation
  • Can occur during labor and delivery, mostly during labor which requires the use of instruments
  • More common in women
