PO Administer once daily with meals. Multi-dose bottle: Use bottle cap to measure 10 g of powder. Fill twice for 20-g dose. Pour dose into empty 8 oz glass. Add 4 oz of water, juice or other beverage (coffee, tea, soda) and stir to dissolve. Drink entire contents of glass. Administer oral medications at least 2 hr before or 2 hr after lactitol. Instruct patient to take lactitol as directed and to take other medications at least 2 hr before or 2 hr after lactitol. Advise patient to stop lactitol and notify health care professional if persistent loose stools occur.
